Dolphin Slaughter to increase illegal sharks hunting.

In the traditional Asian food, shark's meat is considered as an expensive and delicious dish; altough the shark hunting is illegal; and now, a new report of investigative team and conservation NGO Mundo Azul claims that this meat demand is indirectly fueling another illegal tragedy in the Ocean: the killing of more than 15.000 dolphins every year in Perù.

Undercover reportes have been hidden between these desplicable fishermen who kill the dolphins, in order to register their techniques they use: fishermen follow the dolphin pod and, when the mamals are inside the shooting range, they aim them with a harpion and fire. Once these "people" hit their target, the fishermen hoist the dolphin onto the boat and slice of the animal's skin, sometimes also when the caught dolphin is still alive!

Other times, the mamal is clubbed to death. The dolphin's skin is used as bait in shark hunting.

“I just went numb looking at the pitiful dolphin being battered with a club,” Stefan Austermühle, the president of Mundo Azul and an undercover reporter himself, said in an interview with Blue Voice, the organization that funded the mission. “All I could do was continue recording the event in the hope that making the world aware of this tragedy can somehow bring an end to it.”

In other Countries, where there isn't specific laws to protect small cetaceans, the killing is left without control. Perhabs, the well known event of dolphins killing was happened in Taiji, Japan: the city black marked by the Oscar-winner documentary in 2010 "The Cove".

In taiji, dolphins were killed and gathered not for shark bait, but for human consuption and for selling to marine parks.

Blue Voice has already obtained signatures from 33 international NGOs and plans to send their proposal to the Peruvian government, letting them know that their behavior is “unacceptable.” Once they stop the overfishing of sharks, Jones believes, only then will the dolphin slaughter stop too.

The Peruvian government vows to investigate the crimes and plans to deliver a report by June 2014, according to the Los Angeles Times.
