Animal of the week...14

For the honor of our logo, this week it's all for the Polar Bear!

Polar Bears are very strong swimmers, and their large front paws, which they use to paddle, are slighty webbed. In their life, polar bear roam the Artic ice sheets and swim in that region's coastal waters.

Polar bears live in one of the coldest Earth's places and they succeed to survive thanks to a thick coat for insulated white fur, which covers a warming layer of fat. The fur also grows on the bottom of their paws and guards the bear against coldest surface and provides a good grip on ice. The white color of the fur provides for the camouflage in surrounding snow and ice. Under the fur, ice bears have go black skin, in order to protect the mamals against warming Sun rays.

They are powerful predators, and hunt their preys under or on the ice caps. They aren't afraid of natural enemies: they are the masters of their environment.
